Language & Literacy

Back

Language and Literacy Development is crucial to young children’s learning. Children need to use language not only to express their needs, feelings and thoughts, but also to make sense of what adults want them to do. They need language to communicate with others in order to participate more fully in their society. Such needs can be met with the guidance and support of adults who provide children with opportunities to extend and enrich their vocabulary and engage them in meaningful and purposeful conversation.
